The south trailhead is on the northeast side of the Montlake Bridge.

This first section of trail is gravel/ dirt.

Near the marina, the trail becomes paved. This view faces south.

The route passes by a UW gym, following Walla Walla Road.

Following a zig-zag route through the streets, the route continues. Traffic is usually light.

Trail switches back to gravel again. Special events may trigger overflow parking.
